Run your finger between the frame and the back of the
bell housing.. You will feel the 4 bolts that hold
the shield. I have had luck getting them from the
back of the car using a 1/4 drive ratchet, swivel, and
long extension... A wrench works too, but you do not
get a lot of movement for each turn because of the
frame.
If you look at section 4-5-1 for the AUTOMATIC
transmission, you can see the shield (Part 23). It is
the same on the Manual trans.
