There is a quick way to check out the system.
Disconnect the plug to the fuel sending unit on the
top of the fuel tank. Apply a 12 volt positive side
source (lawnmower battery works great) to the light
green/orange wire of the plug that goes into the
wiring loom. Ground the negative side of the battery
to any 'good' ground on the car. This bypasses
everything in the system and the low fuel light should
light up. If it doesn't, the bulb is probably bad.
If it does light, then the fuel quanity sender in the
tank is probably bad or not making the proper
connection. Double check your plug for corrosion, as
this could also be a source of you problem.
Fuel quanity sending units are repairable, but since
yours is new, then the vender should stand behind it,
if in fact it is bad. Contact me off line should you
have any question.
