Simple.  Because these people have no other significance in life so they try
to scrape up something here.  They get noticed and that fuels them.  Don't
notice them and they won't be fueled.

Food fight. That's what it looks like. Food fight. Out
of all the billions and billions of cars that have
been built - Like Carl Sagan might have said talking
about cars instead of stars , if he were alive, us
people that own 
Deloreans and Bricklins, all together, might totally
own 14,000 motor vehicles. So why argue. If we can get
into our respective vehicles, turn the key and the car
gets us somewhere, what more should we ask for.
