There's enough black silicone up there that water shouldn't be an
issue. I guess by the time they got to the upper 5000's DMC was
responding to your leakage issue. Would be a bigger pain trying to dig
all that silicone out than curiosity is worth. If my door lights ever
stop working I'll do it.
Brings up a good question though: who was responsible for designing
the interior lighting? I added two more dome lights (at the top of the
B pillars) and two footwell lights to bring mine up to standards. A
centrally located dome light would have been a great improvement over
the rather useless rear lever light.
T panel will indeed be reseated carefully. It's being replaced along
with my quarter panel (3 years later I am *FINALLY* replacing my
dented quarter panel -- decided it wouldn't be any fun to be banished
to the rear of the Fall tour).
