I agree with this too. I have driven my car now a number of thousand miles
since the installation last September of my bespoke system constructed by CH
Fabrication. Within the first week it had gone a little copper like on the
21? stainless steel headers as expected due to the heat. The main part of
the system still looks like new albeit a little dirty at the moment. The
quality of the welding is the best I have seen.
The pictures below were taken around a week after initial installation and
it is 100% high quality stainless steel. The UK fabricator said that if it
breaks he will fix it! To confirm he expects it to last as well as the body
and he knows I plan on keeping the car for a long long time.

As you can see it is fully free-flowing. It has 21? headers which are
optimum for the PRV which converge to a U shaped piece through to the
silenced tailpipe of choice. As the space is tight and the engine is not
symmetrical the other side is sculpted slightly differently. My DMC sounds
like a TVR or the ?Back To The Future DeLorean? and when you lift off the
throttle you can hear every pop, fart and tune the engine is playing. If
3.5? diameter pipes are too big you can always go smaller?or bigger?
My system wasn?t the cheapest but I firmly believe you get what you pay for.
The system would cost £1,500 if any of you wanted one but this is without
cats. If you wanted cats installed I am sure Chris at CH fabrication would
oblige.
The previous system had stainless 3? pipes connected to steel pipe work
(gave up after 5 years) which was welded to the original manifolds. The new
system sounds better and the car surges more too!
Kind regards,
Chris Hawes

High grades of stainless steel will not rust, they will discolor from heat.
Surely any welder who welds stainless will use the proper rods for the welds
is so this also will not rust. Almost if not all metals will discolor under
high heat, maybe C-276 steel would do it, but you could also buy a car for
what
the exhaust system would cost. Just shut the hood and don't sweat the small
stuff like a little discoloring of the exhaust system.
