First, I think an online poll (form) would organize the data a little
more uniformly. (Sure, add a comments box at the bottom for 'additional
thoughts.')
My question for Ken is:
What's your primary goal for DCS? To get the most 'D's together, or
the most owners/spouses? Owners with their entire families?
I believe the goal will reveal the solution.
Florida is the number one vacation destination in the U.S. for
families. (I think Hawaii is number one for couples, but that IS a
difficult drive . . .)
Florida is nice. 'Something for everyone' is an understatement.
Orlando is saturated with fun. It's remote to much of the U.S., but
Walt Disney was no fool. The weather and destination is worth it, and
millions prove him right every year.
Plus, it's an easy 8.5 hour drive for us, so one DCS in Orlando would
be nice.
The cost differences (in locations) shouldn't be that much of an issue
to attendees -with TWO years to save pennies between shows.
Perhaps we're a little 'strange', but we view every 'DCS' as a big
Adventure.
Unlike business conventions and trade shows, we look forward to getting
to DCS in our DeLorean, since it is all about everything DeLorean.
There's an excitement about preparing the 'D', working out the packing
logistics, planning the route to include other interesting things along
the way. We've all heard the saying, 'getting there is half the fun.'
Well I can't think of a phrase more appropriate than a trip in a
DeLorean. The destination is great, but I think many people discount
the adventure of getting to and from, or worse, flat out dread 'the
long drive.' What better excuse for a 'driving trip?' :)
