Yes, they can be found.

I bought one for my wife's Yukon a couple of years ago.  As I 
recall, I got it from Sears online.  The model I selected had the 
sensor built into a license plate frame, but they had a version with 
attach-them-yourself sensors.  It paid for itself almost right away.

I believe there is even an "As Seen on TV" model for about $50, 
though I don't know if it's as reliable.

A search online for "backup sensor" should get you started.

You could probably build some "Stainless Curb Feelers." :)
