Age and sunlight. Keep the car in a garage and out of the sun. Use a
dashmat when out. Eventually it will crack, the headliners will also
fall, the foam will turn into dust and the fabric will fall away from
the backerboard. Nothing lasts forever but sunlight speeds the
process. Tires also age, sunlight again (UV in particular) will ruin them.
