Another possabilty which has not been mentioned is you could have a
blown head gasket. In such a case even a perfectly good radiator cap
will allow the coolant out along with the excess pressure from the
combustion gases. Simple to test for. A car which is losing that much
coolant should not be driven. You will damage the seal in the water
pump if you haven't already and you are taking a BIG chance of
overheating the motor and if you haven't popped the head gaskets
eventually you will. Any leak that is losing that much coolant
shouldn't be hard to find.
