I've always said for DeLoreans to be such little cars, they have the
biggest personalities; and no two of them are exactly alike. I've
owned two DeLoreans: an '82 VIN 10115 and an '81 VIN 5252. Though
both were grey interior 5-speed cars they were vastly different
automobiles. I have lost count how many DeLoreans I've driven over
the years, but I can tell you no two are identical. No two have the
same feel in their clutch pedals or shifters. No two sound exactly
the same inside or accelerate exactly the same. No two have the same
exact ride height or shade of grey leather. Some D's regardless of
how much time and money you put into restoring them will continue to
develop problems, while others you can just get in and drive. Most
of these things can be accounted for through age, maintanence,
storage methods, and the fact the cars were a constant work in
progress in the factory.
