Hard to say without knowing a little more. What I suggested was an educated
guess ("been there, done that"), not to be considered absolute. What you have
done so far certainly "makes a difference" but is not nearly enough. You have
only tackled the two ends. Now you need to work on the "middle". For starters
you should replace all rubber-like fuel line components and completely purge
all steel fuel lines. You should also replace the fuel filter. In addition, at
minimum, you should dismantle the fuel distributor and clean it, possibly you
may have to replace it. And don't forget to purge or replace the lines from the
distributor to the injectors. If you haven't done all this, the new injectors 
you say have been installed may be trashed with gunk. Don't bother looking for 
any "wear" anywhere. Just gunk! "Outside this" there are a few dozen anomalies
that might contribute to you plight.

As an aside, how certain are you that the car has "only 3,000 miles" on it?
Uncertified used DeLoreans that have changed hands a few times are notorious for
having grossly inaccurate miles on the clock.
