Re: [DMCForum] Mode switch

Mike,

Got the picture from you via private email - thanks.

OK, here's where you have to get creative: The mode switch is
positioned "up" in the picture, in the final configuration as it would
be if installed in the car. The picture doesn't show the back of the
switch but where the hoses enter it in the diagram is accurate. So you
have to start tracing things out.

Here's the original drawing:

Here's the drawing with the vacuum lines colorized:

Here's a close-up of the mode switch:

So, from the drawing it's very easy to see where the lines route to,
but you're having a problem finding which connection on the back of
the mode switch they hook to - correct?

That was the same problem I had. This drawing solved it for me, but
like you, I had to stare at it for a long time before it clicked. It's
even easier now that I've colored the lines in. So, hold the mode
switch in position, exactly as it would be if you had it mounted in
the car. Then line your vacuum lines up according to the colored tubes
in the close-up drawing. You'll have two barbs near the top of the
mode switch - the right one is blue, left one is red. Then just go
around the switch. Green is next to the red, then yellow, then purple.
Of course your real lines aren't these colors...

Route them from the mode switch to where the diagram shows them going
& test everything. It should work as expected.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help. This is how I
fixed mine, and it worked perfectly the first time.
