Re: [DMCForum] Re: ANOTHER EBAY SCAM

You know, I technically bought my car on eBay. Considering the huge
amount of scams, I'd almost consider myself lucky.

Except I did my due research. I sent only $1,000 as a down; I sent it
via Paypal; I flew down to inspect the car personally before handing
over the final amount; and - most importantly - I talked to the guy on
the phone before doing anything.

Oh, and I didn't buy a $15k car for $4k thinking I was ripping
somebody off. I can almost say people who fall for this deserve what
they get. What sort of greedy person thinks he can buy a car for a
quarter it's value? You know the buyer is thinking, "Haha, I'm totally
ripping this guy off."

If I came across an honest person selling a car for that little, I'd
have to tell them. "You know, I really, really want to buy your car
for the advertised price, but: You do realize it's worth four times
what you're asking, right? I mean, if you really want to give me such
a sweetheart deal I'll take it, but you could get a lot more money for
this car."

I figure if someone goes into a deal thinking he's going to take
advantage of another and it turns out the opposite of what he'd
planned, you know, I don't have a lot of sympathy for him.
