Eh, it depends on the situation.

Money tight? Car causing you to spend too much time away from your
wife? Some other need that selling the car will solve? Absolutely, you
sell the car.

Wife just bitchy? Money/space/time not a problem, but, "You're not
going to have one of those because I said so?" Screw that. See you
later, baby. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I know some incredibly miserable people who want, but can't have, a
sports car. Wife just "puts her foot down." They tell me, "I can't
believe your wife let you buy that." Excuse me? She LET me? Look, pal,
I'm sorry you're still a child living under "Mommy's" rule at the age
of 35, but I don't ask permission for the type of car I drive. A
budget is mutually agreed upon based on available finances and from
that, I'll buy what I damn well please, thank you very much. If you're
driving an Escort that's your fault. Be a man and stop letting your
wife run all over you. Quite frankly, if she really loves you she'll
respect you for standing up to her.

Men in these circumstances hate to hear this, but they need to. The
woman should be very important to you, but she should not define who
you are as a person. Men often look to the woman to validate
themselves, but she is incapable of doing so. You have to do this on
your own, by living your life and following your dreams. Find a woman
who will go on your life adventure with you, and you on her's, and
you'll have a mutually satisfying relationship.
