[DMCForum] DeLorean Differentials (was: Re: Racing)



The problem isn't with the ring gear, it's the pinion. It's the first
gear installed on the final drive cluster, so that means that it's the
last one to come off. You have to heat the gears with a hotplate to
expand them, and be able to slide them off.

I figure that I'm just going to swap internals over from an old R17
Gordini, or a Fuego into my stock DMC case. The gears are too tall,
and the tires too big to let all that torque go to waste. I don't know
what the specs on Proto-1 are for that car's differential, but it's
gotta be higher than 3.44:1.
