Bernie, not true

You can invest in solar cells for your house & garage to break
yourself free of the grid. Then you can power your own needs, charge
electric vehicles, and have an onsite battery array to store energy
when needed.

back to the spend to save technique, it will run you between 10-15
grand to accomplish this.

But if energy goes through the roof in a few years, it may pay for
itself sooner.

I would strongly advise having a competent electrician to wire it up
though. Anther 3-5 grand on top to live independent.

But it can be done, and the plug in car is not a fantasy, I will be
waiting to purchase one if it ever gets made again.
