Maybe you have a weak battery? This doesn't seem to be a common problem for
anybody else (at least I don't recall anybody having this issue in the past
few years). I have a manual override switch for the outerstat, so I could
try starting my D with the fans on. However, I have cold/hot starting issue
I'm currently working on, so I can't try this out at the moment.

In the mean time, pretend you have a turbo and let the car sit and idle
until the cooling fans turn off. :)
