Forgot  to mention: it was dark as I pulled off I-95 in Fayetteville.
Right before  the exit I was blinded by a flash from the rear of the
vehicle. First  thought was "what the heck has Old Faithful done to
me?". Then I was  blinded by a flash from my side window -- tourists
were photographing me  with a mega camera (not digital).

Ah, the joys of traveling in a  DeLorean.

I absolutely cringe when I pull off for gas or food and hear  from the
far side of the parking lot "Hey man, is that a DELOREAN?" Adds 15  or
20 minutes to the trip every time that happens ("No, it's made  of
plastic, not stainless steel". "Yes, the gas tank is in the  front,
just like a Doodlebug". "I know my quarter panel is dented -- I  have
another one lying on my guest room bed but haven't had a chance  to
bolt it on yet...").

Hi Bill:

I feel for you and I completely understand how you feel. I was the guy
waving at you in the green BMW 740iL, near the FBI academy exit,  I don't  know if
you saw me. The traffic was terrible. I grew up in California, and it is
worse here in DC than back in LA.

If I'm in a hurry, and have to make a pit stop for gas etc, I just  tell
people that "the car is a service loaner from NASA...my space shuttle  is in for
service" and I proceed to cross my eyes, mumble some gibberish that an  alien
would probably sound like,  give the "live long and prosper" hand  gesture that
Dr. Spock gave on Star Trek, and say "let the force be with  you"...That gets
them the hell away from me in a heartbeat!!! ha ha  ...just kidding
around...I try to take my time and give them the quick and easy  tour. I also keep a
folder full of the DeLorean Info handouts that the DOA  printed up several years
ago.

The Tucker museum is private, and I would need the names of the people that
would like to attend. I took Marc Levy there a few years ago. I don't think he
had a good time driving in a caravan of DeLoreans through stop & go downtown
Washington DC traffic.
The owner is very cool and actually smokes a pack of cigarettes during the
tour. Plan to spend about 5-6 hours there.

Sincerely,
Mike Pack
