No, normal chain wear causes them to do that (Volvo owners tend to
drive their cars to much higher mileage than DeLo owners do). Given
our generally low overall usage this shouldn't be a major concern, at
least not until 100,000 miles on our angle drive questionable odometers.

Thicker oil gums up the cam shaft oil orifices. I think higher overall
F series engine temps may exacerbate the problem, especially with
conventional oil. Americans also love to stretch out their oil change
intervals, then brag about doing so!
