[DMCForum] Re: TIG/MIG & Plasma

Hey Walt...

I have had pretty good luck with my Millermatic 135.  You can do
stainless and aluminum welding with this unit.  It has a 20% duty
cycle.  Comes with a gas hookup, and is decently priced. (115v 20A hookup)

For a TIG, I recommend the Miller Syncrowave 180SD.  This unit simply
kicks ass.  It has a 40% duty cycle, and is extremely easy to use.  I
think for a TIG it's reasonably priced.  I have welded many aluminum
pieces with this TIG, and have been extremely happy with the
performance.  The only downside is that it's really heavy.  This unit
does require a phase 1 power supply.

I can't really comment on a specific plasma cutter.  I have used some,
but not enough to like or dislike a specific model.  Of course, I have
been so happy with Miller products that I am considering the Spectrum 625.

Hope this is helpful, if you have specific questions, feel free to ask.
