[DMCForum] eyebrows...

Ok, here's my theory.  Please feel free to trash it all you want.  Have you
ever removed or replaced a front fascia?  When I removed mine, the sides
were stressed.  What I mean by this, is the fascia was not just sitting on
the car but you had to pull the sides away from the car, not just to get the
little stud out.

So, my theory is the fascia is stressed due to this and the weakest point is
above the headlights.  If the fascia were not stressed then the eyebrows
would probably never appear.  Mine is an early car, so I am not sure if that
has anything to do with it.  No, not pre-production :P

Aside from the one I posted pictures of, there is another low VIN car I am
looking at.  This car has spent all of its life sitting outside exposed to
the sun.  The fascia is dead straight with only some fading, and the dash
and binnacle are perfect.  With a little detailing this one could
potentially be a concours car.  That could rule out the sun thing.

I've been told that my car looks worried. :)

The warpage is caused by the heat from sunlight. In the summertime, if
I leave my car parked out in the sun, I can press the "eyebrows" down,
and they'll bend back into shape. IF I can keep the car out of the
sunlight, and only drive it at night, the facias will retain their shape.

So I can tell you without a doubt, that it is neither wind, nor heat
from the headlights that causes the warpage.
