RE: [DMCForum] Turbo Bosch X-Jet?

Ah, but then it would be better to reinvent the air flow path than the fuel
injection system.  Assuming I go with a Porsche 930-type setup, I'd much
rather have the turbos push through the throttle plate than straight into
the manifold sides.  I have no problems re-piping this, since I am going to
be putting in twin air-to-liquid intercoolers anyway.  Again, not
reinventing the wheel, what do you think of a Legend-type V design?

Assuming that I do change the airflow path as you mentioned, do you forsee
any issues using the Porsche K-Jet setup?  It's also a 3.0l engine btw.

Oh, and I'm fortunate enough to have the only J&S spark controller in the
new design.  Mine was the last he made if I understand correctly.  That's
another reason why I would like to stay with as much of the current setup as
possible.

Hi Dave

Yes - but that's my point - they all boost through the throttle plate so
the calibrtion will be a mile out. If I were you, I'd stick with the
stock 066cpr and hook up the front port to the manifold and the rear
port to the throttle port. In my tests, I worked out that having a
higher pressur ein the rear port than in the front port makes no
difference, but having higher at the front than the rear, as it does for
a short time on the stock engine, continues working into the boost range
- or 5psi on my friend's Island setup. Unfortunately it works too well
and he gets about 100miles to the tank even though he also gets a lot
more power. I've been toying with applying a restricted bleed-off to
that port so that we can manually set the pressure seen by it and lower
the effect it has. It's a real shame the J&S controller's no longer
available.

You're on the right track with the later PRV's. Certainly all the
renault lumps after the turbo came into being all use the same
strengthened bottom end - even the 24 valver which is why my friend with
the Alpine Atmo is supercharging a 24v for it...
