Yes, that's right.
This is the car seen used in the original 1981 "DeLorean" documentary, and
in the dealer films
before the car went into final design and production.
It is really nothing like our cars, the interior is completely different,
the dash and cluster are
totally different, the engine is a mid mounted 4 cylinder.
The rims are completely different and so are the facias and glass.
I think the way the doors open is a little different too, there are no
torsion bars.
None of the production parts would fit this car.
The fenders, doors, nothing would fit as they were all custom formed.
It's a totally different car and I am sure it weighs a ton from all the
custom fiberglass
and bondo underneath.
This thing was just a working mock up for photos and dealer relations.

I have several articles and photos of this car, I will try to dig them up
and share them.
