no doubt I can figure it out, Greg.  I actually know a fair bit about
cars "on paper,"  but I also know that I'll either just spin my wheels
trying or damage myself and I don't have time for either scenario. 
I've been trying to find the open end of the coolant hose to see if it's
leaking  - with no success.  I do know that I hate lying upside down
under a car and trying to work on it.  I found an oil leak, though -
now I have a new problem to tackle.

On a different note - I went to Auto Zone today to replace my battery
since I had no idea what kind of POS the PO had installed that kept
discharging itself with a death wish akin to a sky diver with a chute
wrapped by pre-schoolers.   The gang banger who worked there
rolled the battery-testing machine out to the parking lot as asked
which car.  When I, in my understated way, pointed to the D, he just
uncontrollably let go with

DUDE!!!!  THAT'S THE SHIT!!!
