Same for me.  I was an "intellectually gifted"  "underachiever,"  
bored literally to distraction by what didn't interest me in school.  
My fifth grade teacher lamented to my parents "She doesn't apply 
herself."  My reply "Yah, so is that a problem?"  

Josh, I'm trying to defend you here.  Are there subjects in school 
that you excel at and are interested in?
