Here's the fun part: all Genration II AMC V8's share identical
external dimensions. That means you can drop a 360, 390, or 401 into
your pacer no sweat. *FASTER* than a Camaro. You will need to beef up
the differential however (when AMC went to the 304, they also dumbed
down the rear end).

What's the HP of that Met? Around 40 as I recall. 0-60 in something
like 30 seconds. Hellacious turning radius too. Reminiscent of a
little silver car I know...
