Re: [DMCForum] test...

Can I tell my funny "unlikely driver" story now?

A couple of years ago my husband and I went downtown to get
passports.  Miserable, cold rainy day for a desert rat, so I was
swathed in sweats and work boots looking particularly slovenly.   I
never even considered that I'd find a parking meter, just assumed I'd
have to park the Hummer in a lot, and between us we had 16c in
coin.  Impatient and cold, I pulled a dollar out of my wallet and
started walking toward a stranger to ask for change.  She took me
for one of our bountiful population of  homeless panhandlers and did
that traditional 10 foot loop around me, refusing eye contact until I
started laughing and pointing at the Hummer saying "no, I need
change for the meter."    She felt so bad so gave me 60c and refused
my dollar.
