maybe they desgined them, I don't know.
But I know that the tools - at least some of the tools for the SS 
were made in Germany by Thyssen-Nothelfer.
I met a guy 2 years ago who said he worked on the tools when he
started to work there after his apprenticeship.

They had to wear gloves when they touched the panels and the panels 
were covered with a plastic foil or so.

But that was just about the tools.

Hey Elvis,

The body dies were all designed by and built by Lappel Engineering, 
less than an hours drive from where I am sitting right now! Here is 
their website:

They also stamped all the DeLorean body panels in house, and 
transferred them by road to the factory in Belfast. Today they still 
have the original press machines in use that were used to stamp the 
panels. I don't know where the rumors started that the panels were 
stamped in Germany?? Well Lappel is a German company, so maybe that 
is where it came from...
