RE: [DMCForum] Re: Platinum Plugs

The only signs of age on the plugs were a bit of 'rounding' on the
electrodes... the edges and corners had worn down smoothly, but in such a
manner as to look as if they were originally manufactured that way (which I
know they were not).  I assume Martin Gutkowski could tell us something
about how this happens electrically...  =)

I do wish they made Accel U-Groove spark plugs for the D.  They have made
all the difference on startup for my carbureted cars.

Dave - I was running a set of AC Delco plugs in an old Chevy truck
that I used to own.  I kinda forgot about doing a tune up on it
because I had converted it to electronic ignition, and it just
seemed to go forever.  The engine started to run a little rough at
about 45,000 miles on the plugs, so I pulled them out to have a
look.  Four of the plugs were MISSING the center electrode.  The
things had burned completely away to only a porcelain shell.  I
couldn't believe that the engine could still run basically on four
cylinders.  Unbelievable.  To get 140K out of a set of plugs is
astonishing.  That has got to be some kind of record for the older
technology.

In regards to Juley ... Yep ... she's a keeper.
