[DMCForum] Re: Electorial College

Actually each state sets its own rules for how electorial college
members are to vote. Thought I saw in a news article recently that one
or two of them do divide college votes according to the popular vote
(isn't Colorado about to do the same?). In North Carolina, electors
pledge to vote for a particular candidate (single highest popular vote
winner gets them all), but legally they can vote however they want,
with an extremely nominal fine otherwise.

United States is a federation as well as a republic.
