RE: [DMCForum] DeLorean engine swaps.

Most Porsche people think the 944 (w or w/o turbo) engines just suck --
especially the owners of 944s.  Maybe a 968 engine?

But remember -- on these, the engine is in front, and I don't know if they
will bolt up to a rear-engined Porsche's transmission!

Subject: [DMCForum] DeLorean engine swaps.

Hi lads,
What engine swaps are currently out there or in the process of being
built?
I want to start planning mine, definitely in conjunction with some
Porsche transmission, but am unsure of engine choice.

I absolutely love American V8's, but would think that there are
better alternatives out there, with the same power in a lighter
package. I'd like to stay within the same approximate weight range as
the PRV, so I suppose another aluminum 6 cylinder like Marc Levy is
using (I think) is a good choice?
What about the Porsche 944 or 944 Turbo engines, has anyone
considered it? Any opinions on how good a choice this would be? The
reason I ask is that these are common over here, in fact I am
planning on buying a 944 in a few weeks as my daily driver.

On a side note, I initially liked DMC houstons "new" interior, but
over the past few weeks have thought it a bit too much like what I'd
find in a teenagers Civic, the original interior in good condition is
hard to beat.

Glad to see the return hopefully of the DMC forum!

Best wishes,
John
