[DMCForum] Re: Renault in America (Farrar)

Renault owned a controlling interest in American Motors 1982-1987, at
which time the company was sold to Chrysler as an ongoing concern (AMC
never "went out of business").

Every new AMC product after 1983 (Alliance, Feugo, etc) was French
designed, produced in Wisconsin.

AMC never used the PRV in lieu of its own excellent 6 cylinder engine
(which is still in production under Chrysler auspices). Chrysler
inherited the PRV by virtue of the purchase and used it in later products.

AM General was a division of AMC, *NOT* *GENERAL* *MOTORS*!!!!! HUMVEE
(Hummer) was already in production. AMC sold AM General in 1983
because controlling French interest precluded military contracts.
Hummer is an AMC product, not General Motors!!!!!
