Every way it was counted, by every group left, right, or neutral, still
showed G. W. Bush as the winner.
 
Of course, you can still whine and say "he didn't win the popular vote", but
that is irrelevant.  The president is elected by the electoral college,
which was in place loooooong before that election.  Don't like it?  Write
your Congress people and ask them to change it.
 
If it comes down to the electoral college vs. popular vote again this year
with Kerry, I'll bet we'll be hearing about how -fair- the EC is rather than
unfair...
