No, I met with Bob late one night in Dave Swingle's room and he told some
pretty nutty stories about Glover needing a fix before shooting.

Do you remember the scenes towards the beginning of BTTF 2 where George
McFly was hanging upside down? He said he relished the thought of torturing
Glover after he was such a pain in the ass in the first movie. Alas, it
turned out Glover wasn't even going to be in it so his plan was foiled.

I'd say it's fairly obvious that he's cleaned up since then. I finally 
viewed the clip, and it appears that he was on LSD and/or cocaine at the 
time. Bob Gale was probably referring to Glover's notorious 
eccentricities rather than his drug use, though the former could of 
course have been exaggerated by the latter
