You definetally don't have one of the later precut 83 vents back 
there. That one was sawed out, and either the crumbling effect is 
due to the material being dried out and is now brittle with age. 
Only real way around this is to replace it. If mine looked like 
that. I'd give houston a call and ask for a new one asap.
Ask if they have any later styles with the antenna hole already 
there, will look a lot nicer.
