I heard that sometimes the door lock solenoids could melt
internally causing them to sieze up.  Then the only way to
get the door open is to take the door panel off and
disconnect the linkage.

I unstuck someone's driver's door before.  I crawled in thru
the passenger side in a hot cramped garage dark garage.  It
felt great to finally get the door open & get some air in
there.
