obviously missed that one years ago?

I think that the reserve was never met.  Here is a crude cut & paste of that auction:

1981 DELOREAN TWIN TURBO FACTORY PROTOTYPE
Vehicle Description

1981 DeLorean, 36,025 Miles, Ext- Stainless Steel, Int-Black, Vin: SCEDT26T1B000502, 6 Cylinders, 5 Speed Transmission, Clear Texas title, 1981 Historical Prototype Twin Turbo DeLorean. The world's only factory twin-turbocharged DeLorean. The one-of-a-kind factory prototype - part of a planned optional turbo charging program halted when the DeLorean scandal erupted in 1981 - is the result of over $6 million in engineering research conducted by DeLorean and Legend Industries. In April 1981 DeLorean #000502 Rolled off the assembly line in Ireland and was shipped to Legend industries in Long Island, New York at the direct order of John Z. DeLorean. John Z. had earlier entered into a contract with Legend to develop a Twin Turbo power plant capable of propelling the DeLorean at racecar speed, while maintaining the fine manners of an expensive European GT, and having the reliability to carry a five year, 50,000 mile warranty. In May 1981 the Twin turbo power plant was installed in #000502 and road testing began. The car was delivered to John DeLorean who was quoted as saying "The car's performance and manners finally match its good looks.' #000502 was returned to Legend for final pre-production testing prior to expected Twin Turbo engine introduction in 1982. Practically every piece of the Renault V6 engine had to be redesigned except the bottom end and the camshaft. The results were reported as smooth, reliable engine with great flexibility and lug-ability. This engine is capable of pulling smoothly in fifth gear from 1,500 RPM, continuing through full Turbo boost at 2,500 RPM, and climbing solidly on to 6,500-RPM to 150 MPH without the slightest protest. This vehicle was acceleration tested by "Road & Track" Magazine at an incredible 0-60 in 5.8 seconds and the quarter mile in 14.7 seconds. In a test run at Bridgehampton Raceway in 1981, this factory prototype blew the doors off a Ferrari 308, a Porsche 928, and a high performance Corvette. It has been featured in articles in both "Road & Track" and "Motor Trend" Magazines. DeLorean #000502 became the personal use vehicle of John DeLorean and was featured in exhibitions from coast to coast. In 1985 an agent for the current owner purchased it from the DeLorean Motor Company bankruptcy sale. It has been in his position ever since, and has been in storage except for exhibition and maintenance.

Vehicle Condition

DeLorean #000502 is in unrestored original factory condition and is in great driving condition with all features functioning properly. The mileage is original and documented. All information taken from "DeLorean World," "Road & Track," "Motor Trend" Magazines and the owner.
