Yes, but this seems like they are penalizing me for not buying these cars in
this state.  We do have very low registration fees and I even had to pay for
two license plates for cars that are not drivable.  They did not, however,
try to charge me for not registering the cars within a certain amount of
time from purchase.  Louisiana, where I used to live and hope to never live
again, would have charged me for that.

isn't paying sales tax on cars mitigated by lower registration fees
where you live?  They get you one way or the other.
