[DMCForum] Re: Jacking points?

Now you know why I don't like the official factory jacking points.
Hang all the weight of the frame, engine, transmission, gas tank, etc
from 23 year old plastic. Bad idea.

I position rear jack stands where the lower support arms attach to the
crossmember. Are even little stamped knobbies to fit the cradles.

Jack up front end by the big frame, not the crumple extension. Big
frame ends at the shock towers. That's also where you position the
jack stands (I put mine by the shipping tie downs).

Don't sweat having all 4 wheels in the air. As long as you're not
using Made in China's finest jack stands, and as long as you've
positioned them properly, is every bit as safe as having them on the
ground.
