To my knowledge, there are no new evaporators.  The
cross-reference to anything Lotus or Mercury is completely
wrong.  Apparently it is unique to the DeLorean, but I
wouldn't expect this to be the case.

James Espey of DMC/Texas says they will have a replacement
soon.  He mentioned that it might involve using a smaller
evaporator core adapted with a spacer.  But then it might
not either.

John Hervey d/b/a SpecialTAuto is casually looking for a
solution.

Places like NAPA & Pepboys have catalogues showing photos of
all their evaporators with dimensions & whatnot given.  I've
looked but haven't found anything that will fit without
modification.  If I can get my hands on one of these
catalogues long enough, then I'll find something of proper
dimensions that I can modify.

So answer me these questions:

Can I have an orifice tube spray into a rubber hose?  I am
considering coupling the high-side input line of an
evaporator to a regular piece of R-134a barrier hose and
then to an orifice tube holder custom machined on a lathe.

How far up stream can the orifice be from the evaporator?
Is there a minimum or maximum distance that the orifice must
be from the evaporator?

Walt
