[DMCForum] Re: A strange and disturbing issue

I followed Elvis Nocita's upgrade procedure. It keeps all of the guts
of the lock circuit inside the box instead of diodes and relays
outboard. He claims to have successfully modified several with
excellent results.

All he did was replace the 1k ohm resistors with 10k ohm resistors,
Darlington transistors to amplify the sense signal to overcome the
new resistors (I hope I got that part right) and replaced the relays.

With the module positioned so that the capacitors are at the top, the
1k ohm resistors are inner ones just under the caps.

Specifically, the transistors he recommended were SOT-32 PNP's. Rad
Shack didn't have them so I bought larger ones, just overkill but he
says they won't harm anything.

My module tests great but my driver's door solenoid is toast and I
haven't replaced/repaired it yet.
