Re: [DMCForum] Blow or no blow?

Well if you're passing around the plate, I'll do a line as
long as it ain't cut with that damn baby laxative. ;-)

The blower should spin counter clockwise when looking down
into the squirrel cage fan.  (Or is that anti-clockwise from
your side of the pond?)  There is a little raised arrow in
the plastic.  Be sure the motor is spinning the correct
direction and that you have the correct squirrel cage for a
DeLorean.  You can compare yours with the photo:

I have experimentally determined that every combination of
squirrel cage configuration along with direction of rotation
will blow at least a moderate amount of air in a DeLorean --
even enough to fool someone who installed the wrong one that
it is almost working correctly.

If nothing is coming from any of the outlets, this sounds
like a massively clogged evaporator.  Using the photo as a
guide, stick you hand in where the blower goes and feel the
side of the evaporator for blockage.  Be careful not to bend
the coils on the resistor pack.  Also remember that the fins
on the evaporator bend very easily, so be gentle.  If it is
full of leaves, you might get by with pulling them off by
hand or vacuuming them out.

Today I ran an evaporator through a dishwasher -- of all
things.  Seems to have cleaned it up pretty good.  Now I
have a bunch of trailing arm bolts in there.  Ever notice
how dirty/greasy they are?  I can't touch one without
turning my fingers black.
