[DMCForum] It's Alive, Dr Frankenstein, It's Alive...

After finally finding Cylinder #1 (took the distributor out during
engine hoisting), my create engine runs like a top. Incredibly smooth
idle at 750 RPM. Never could get my Renault block to do that. Rev's to
5,000-6,000 RPM effortlessly . Setting up a carburetor is *SO* much
easier than setting up fuel injection. And I now have one central
point of fuel metering vesus 6 individual ones (with the potential of
6 different flow rates). Overwhelmingly biggest advantage is ease of
access. Can reach everything on the backside of my engine now.

Since the car is still up on blocks, with no back end, can't guarantee
Pigeon Forge yet. But there's at least a fighting chance now.

I'm driving to DC after work Friday, thus the big push a week early.

Discovered tonight my otterstat is DOA. Will get a replacement sent to
the DC address. If weather is too cool for A/C I'll simply jump the
fans to drive up there.

Oh: biggest problem -- I now have no 1/4" vacuum port to vacuum my
A/C! Are a couple of 3/16" ports on the carb I'll be investigating for
spark advance. Perhaps one of them will suffice. Really would like to
suck from the car's own engine rather than an adjacent vehicle.
