Check out the adult night courses at your local technical
high schools.  They have loads of car oriented stuff --
welding, machine shop, upholstery, body work & paint,
refrigeration, etc.

After reading the Haynes Techbook on a/c, I bought & read
the one for welding.  I should have read that before I tried
to learn oxy/acetylene and stick welding on my own.

So true.  It takes a lot of practice before you can do
respectable work.  My first attempt at stick welding seemed
more like a game of pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey.  I can't see
until I draw the arc, but I can't draw the arc cuz I can't
see.  Are those auto-darkening masks any good?
