[DMCForum] Looking inside cat converter

Won't be able to see honeycomb from muffler end, even with a mirror --
elbow is too sharp.

Don't worry about removing converter. Is really quite simple if you
reach over cross member from front side with 12" extension or so on
socket wrench. Mine is a road salt car and the nuts didn't put up much
of a fight.

Seem to remember O2 sensor being English sized of some sort. 7/8"
doesn't really translate into anything metric. Like many turn of
decade cars, ours are somewhat bastardized. Nuts that hold vacuum
canister are 5/16" fine thread. Angle Drive nut uses 1 1/4". Nuts
holding parking brake cables to rear brackets (the ones you use before
learning about flat head screw/cotter pin) are English (9/16"?). Am
sure there are others.
