Forgetting to put oil in a newly reassembled engine is a not an uncommon
mistake.

Keep in mind I am still learning this engine and like you, I am more
familiar with the big three.  One thing I always did before starting a new
engine was to remove the valve covers and pour oil all over the top of the
head.  I know you have to have the cover on due to vacuum issues, but
maybe
that could help in the pre-start lubrication?
