The water pump is turning freely, so it is not seized. It is also not making any unusual noises. I'm not sure when the alternator belt was last changed, may have been 3 years ago. Thermostat was changed a few weeks ago, and has been working fine. Before this mishap, the car was fully warmed up and running at normal temperature all morning. Yahoo!
