Re: [DMCForum] steering

Someone was going to try fitting a new steering rack that fits a Ford
Pinto
or Mustang. What came of that?

My current project DeLorean has a really messed up steering rack. I
haven't
tried taking it out yet, but I know that it has slipped from its
mountings.
It also has something stripped out internally. Sometimes when I move the
wheel it just goes "bump, bump, bump" and wheels are pointing straight
ahead
while the steering wheel is way way off.

I am ready to try something different. According to the vendors there are
no NOS steering racks to be had, and the reconditioned ones are very
expensive.
