[DMCForum] 3 sensors

Look in the service manual for the sensor specs. You can simulate any
variable needed to test the sensors. For example, a good thermometer
and a hot plate with a container of water. For vacuum snesors and
HVAC work a tester like the Mityvac is a tool every car owner should
have. Just duplicate what the engine would supply as temps and vacuum
levels and monitor the sensor output with the appropriate measuring
tool to see if it falls within the specs listed in the manual. This
can be done with any sensor if you use a little creativity.

If you are going to do your own work there are a few tools that are a
must to own. The FI test kit, a good multimeter, Mityvac, and a
decent vacuum gage come to mind. An AC manifold set and a cooling
system tester are handy also. Learn each subsystem in the car
seperately and go from there, these cars are very simple compared to
a modern vehicle. Above all, study your service manual.

>>There are 3 sensors attached to the water pipe under the intake and
before i put the engine back together i want to make sure these
sensors are operating correctly so how do i test each sensor to make
sure it is operating correctly? I have a new vacuum sensor so i just
need to know how to test the other 2 electric sensors.<<
