My $0.02:

With the exception of the hard rear panels, try to save (repair, re-
spray) the original "distressed" look at all costs!

The previous DMC I owned had been upholstered in black leather... it 
probably cost a fortune, but looked like a kit car interior (mucho el 
cheapo).
